Bill Alderson Experience

Odds and Ends Track Notes

  • Tom Servo's Blues: concluded the B-side of an all-acoustic mix tape that Jonathan made for Lisa in 1993.  It was credited to BAE ("Bill Alderson Experience"). Bill's comments (2008): "As you can tell, this was made up as I played it.  I wish I owned a tuner that day.  This is not good.  I'm pretty sure today was the first time I heard this song and Sunflower Girl Anthem since I recorded them. Tom Servo is my favorite from MST3K."
  • Sunflower Girl Anthem: concluded the A-side of an all-acoustic mix tape that Jonathan made for Lisa in 1993.  It was credited to BAE ("Bill Alderson Experience"). Bill's comments (2008): "These words were taken from the episode of the Brady Bunch where Peter joins the Sunflower Girls.  He had to recite the words when he sold cookies door-to-door.  I made up the arrangement about 30 seconds before I hit the record button.  The Bil Alderson Exerience was of course a joke."
  • Hang Up Your Rock n Roll Shoes: This was on Bill's "The Year in Music-1997" mix tape.  "Scotty-Scott" Allen is featured on bass. Bill's comments (2008): "I did not remember that Scotty Scott played bass on this.  We must have recorded it when he lived with me on Maplehurst right before he graduated from Lipscomb."
  • The Ballad of Peggy Sue: The Ballad of Peggy Sue was on Bill's "The Best of 1996" mix tape.
  • Little Girl: was on Bill's "The Year in Music 1994" mix tape. Bill's comments (2008): "This was written in honor of Jon and Lisa's wedding.  Some of the lyrics may be true."
  • One Wide Two Deep: was on Bill's "The Best of 1996" mix tape.
  • Preachers Daughter: was on Bill's "THE BEST OF 1995--BA" mix tape. Bill's comments (2008): "The end of this is a take off on Jimi Hendrix's version of "Gloria".  Debbie is my sister.  She's a preacher's daughter."
