We moved last year into a house built in 1977 and for some reason it made me look at what music was released that year. Also, someone gave me a 50 disc CD player (I put in our living room) and it gave me a focus and reason to buy more music.
It's an amazing year for both big rock (Fleetwod Mac, Eric Clapton, Jackson Brown, Deep Purple...) and punk (Clash, the Damned, Sex Pistols, Talking Heads, Television, Wire, Elvis Costello....)
Theme Suggestion that isn't sausage: 1977
Or, write a song about Sonny Simpson dumpster diving. He finds an expired package of sausages which he is both desperate to eat and over excited to find. He eats one of the sausages which transports him back to 1977 which he explores, including a journey to find Judas Priest. After a time, he realizes that he can't stay and he has three sausages left. Even though the sausages traveled back in time with him, they, like Sonny, are aging in real time and he must decide how to use them before full decomposition sets in.
His watch ticks, his stomach grumbles, his mind wanders,......
