Tom Shaw on why the band changed their name from Urban Edge to Two Pound Planet

Around 1990, someone said we needed to change the name. It wasn't me. The name was created by Jeff Cobb. Jeff was the original drummer in Urban Edge back in high school at R.J. Reynolds. He created the name Urban Edge in my house in 1984.

But as the 90s approached, others within the group thought a name change was in order.

We took Two Pound Planet as a name even though I, to this day, disagree.
